Cars From Around the World

The Daihatsu Copen is a 2-door convertible, built by the Japanese car company Daihatsu. It has a metal folding roof. Daihatsu proved their reputation of building small cars again at the 2001 Tokyo Motorshow with this Copen concept. The Copen, a combination of compact and open, is powered by a small engine and is equipped with an electronically operated aluminium hard-top. The Copen was originally designed with a 660cc turbocharged engine in order to meet Japanese keicar regulations. However this engine no longer meets environmental emissions standards in several countries, so in these markets the Copen is fitted with a more powerful 1.3 liter powerplant.
